Football Recap: Brookwood Warriors vs. Westfield School Hornets

Brookwood unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They were outmatched by the Westfield School Hornets and fell 44-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Pearce Hightower threw for 42 yards on four of nine attempts. Briggs Daniel was his top target, picking up 29 receiving yards.

A big part of Westfield School's win came down to the chemistry between Brock Johnson and his top target Stone St. Clair. Johnson threw for 218 yards and five TDs while completing 91.7% of his passes while St. Clair picked up 165 receiving yards and three touchdowns. St. Clair showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 50 yards. Win Hoots did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 54 receiving yards.

Brookwood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 27-20 defeat against Terrell Academy on the 22nd. As for Westfield School, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 28-0 victory against Southland Academy on the 22nd.
