Soccer Game Preview: Cate vs. Dunn

The Cate Rams will square off against the Dunn Earwigs at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Cate is coming into the contest hot, having won their last five games.

Cate had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the three-goal drubbing they dealt Bishop Diego on Tuesday. The Rams blew past the Cardinals 5-2. The result was nothing new for Cate, who have now won three matches by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Bishop Diego with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from George Marin (2), Teke Meisel (2), and Quincy Thorne.

Meanwhile, while Dunn scored more goals than they have all season, the final result was a bit underwhelming. They and Foothill Tech finished up their matchup with a 2-2 draw on Tuesday. The result (or lack thereof) marked Dunn's first draw of the season.

Dunn's draw makes their record 0-3-1 this season. As for Cate, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.

Cate came out on top in a nail-biter against Dunn in their previous meeting back in February of 2025, sneaking past 1-0. Do the Rams have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Earwigs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
