Basketball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Bradford's Eighth in Last Nine Outings

Bradford won the last time they faced Ridgeview and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bradford Tornadoes came out on top against the Ridgeview Panthers by a score of 59-51. Given the Tornadoes' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Panthers are ranked 649th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bradford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Maliki Cobarris, who went 9 for 20 on his way to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. The match was Cobarris' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Jy'Quez Cason was another key player, going 5 of 10 en route to 10 points and five steals.

Justyn Cappas and Gavin Stechschulte certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Cappas posted 21 points, while Stechschulte scored 15 points.

Bradford is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Ridgeview, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Bradford has already played their next match, a 42-37 win against Trenton on the 25th. As for Ridgeview, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-39 victory against Baldwin on the 28th.
