Baseball Game Preview: Pulaski Red Raiders vs. Green Bay Preble Hornets

The Pulaski Red Raiders will face off against the Green Bay Preble Hornets at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Pulaski 2.9, Green Bay Preble 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Pulaski fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Ashwaubenon on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (5-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. Surprisingly, this marked their sixth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

Braun Wotruba was huge no matter where he played even without the win. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Wotruba was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

In other batting news, Hunter Money made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs.

Meanwhile, Green Bay Preble came up short against Bay Port on Thursday and fell 7-4.

Peyton Kuehn was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Randy Von Haden also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Green Bay Preble's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Pulaski, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.

Green Bay Preble's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Pulaski hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .327. It's a different story for Green Bay Preble, though, as they've only averaged .258. Will they be able to contain Pulaski's hitters?

Pulaski came out on top in a nail-biter against Green Bay Preble in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
