Basketball Recap: Pallotti's Win Ends Eight-Game Losing Streak on the Road

The third road matchup was the charm for Pallotti, as they earned their first road win of the season. They walked away with a 69-60 win over the Williamsport Wildcats on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Panthers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 92nd, while the Wildcats are ranked 29th).

Williamsport's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Markell Campbell, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zay Oree, who went 7 for 17 on his way to 17 points and five assists.

Pallotti's win ended an eight-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5. As for Williamsport, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Pallotti Panthers take on the New Hope Academy National Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Williamsport, they will challenge Middletown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Williamsport's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
