Baseball Recap: Westampton Tech Extends Winning Streak to Four

Westampton Tech came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Burlington City Blue Devils as they made off with a 14-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Jeret Torres was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Jael Espinal Sanchez was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. He continues to improve, besting his previous run total in each of the last three games he's played. Brayden Lawrence was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

Westampton Tech's record now sits at 6-3. As for Burlington City, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Westampton Tech will welcome Willingboro at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. The timing is sure in the Panthers' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Chimeras have been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road. As for Burlington City, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mastery at 3:45 p.m. on May 6.
