Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Amite). They came out on top against the Sumner Cowboys by a score of 65-55 on Saturday. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Amite's victory bumped their record up to 3-6. As for Sumner, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amite will be home for the holidays to greet Salmen at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Salmen knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Amite likes a good challenge. As for Sumner, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
