The Blaine Bengals are taking a road trip to square off against the Cambridge-Isanti Bluejackets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Blaine comes in on six and Cambridge-Isanti on 13.
Blaine came out on top against Robbinsdale Armstrong on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fourth inning. The Bengals took their game against the Falcons 9-5.
Blaine got a great performance from Paige Dahlman as she tossed six innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits.

At the plate, Emmie Sylvia-Cochran and Hailey Hlavinka did most of the damage at the plate: Sylvia-Cochran went 2-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Hlavinka went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Hlavinka a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kayla Shaffer, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
St. Francis typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Cambridge-Isanti proved too difficult a challenge. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Fighting Saints 4-2. The game was the first time the Bluejackets have beaten the Fighting Saints on their field since April 20, 2021.
Mackenzie Brooks was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. She also scored a run, marking her first of the season.
Brooks wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Amiya Polzin, who went 3-for-4 with one double. Taitum Kostecka was another, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
Blaine pushed their record up to 9-6 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Cambridge-Isanti, their record is now 12-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Blaine hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cambridge-Isanti struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs.
