Basketball Game Preview: Southmont Mounties vs. Greencastle Tiger Cubs

Southmont is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Tuesday. They will look to defend their home court against the Greencastle Tiger Cubs at 7:30 p.m. Southmont is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.

On Thursday, Southmont made easy work of Clinton Prairie and carried off a 55-31 win.

Southmont found their leader in sophomore Ella Barry, who went 9-for-18 on her way to 25 points and four steals. Barry has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaylee Turner, who posted four points and four steals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Greencastle, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They enjoyed a cozy 37-23 victory over Seven Oaks Classical on Friday.

The win got Greencastle back to even at 1-1. As for Southmont, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.

Everything went Southmont's way against Greencastle in their previous meeting back in February, as Southmont made off with a 66-44 win. Will the Mounties repeat their success, or do the Tiger Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
