Volleyball Recap: Rockmart's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Rockmart unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Haralson County Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Rebels this season, with their most recent loss being a 2-0 defeat on Tuesday.

While Rockmart was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22.

Amazia Christopher paced Rockmart's offense, picking up seven kills. Christopher got some help from Kimberlyn Pavon and her six assists. Briley Malone controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Rockmart's defeat dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Haralson County, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-6.

Looking ahead, Rockmart will venture away from home to take on Coosa at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Haralson County, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 loss against Bremen on the 23rd.
