Baseball Recap: Gaston Comes Up Short

Gaston suffered their biggest loss since May 13, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Knappa Loggers, falling 13-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Loggers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-1 on Tuesday.

Brysen Riccardi made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Another player making a difference was Zach Bozich, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Gaston and nudges their season record down to 5-4. As for Knappa, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gaston will take on rival Portland Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Knappa is set to challenge their familiar foe Vernonia at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
