With a playoff win on the line, California City rose to the challenge on Saturday. They came out on top against the Kennedy Thunderbirds by a score of 65-52. The win was nothing new for the Ravens as they're now sitting on nine straight.

California City got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cassius 'Hollywood' Brown out in front who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. The match was Brown's sixth in a row with at least 15 points. Another player making a difference was Avery 'Skywalker' Spears, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 19 boards.

California City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in four consecutive games.

California City pushed their record up to 19-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 80.3 points over those games. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.

Looking ahead, California City will challenge Exeter at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Exeter knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully California City likes a good challenge. Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
