There's no place like home for Battery Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Orangeburg-Wilkinson Bruins with a sharp 16-1 victory on Friday. The Dolphins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by 11 runs or more this season.

Stella Schubert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Schubert was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Bri Asha Brodus, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Emma Phelan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one double.

Battery Creek was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .722. They are 6-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Battery Creek's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-9. As for Orangeburg-Wilkinson, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Battery Creek didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 9-4 victory against Cross on the 30th. Orangeburg-Wilkinson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
