Football Game Preview: Gardendale Rockets vs. Homewood Patriots + How To Watch

The Gardendale Rockets will challenge the Homewood Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Gardendale has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Homewood will arrive with six straight victories.

Gardendale is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Central on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Rockets took a blow against the Falcons, falling 49-14. The Rockets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-7.

Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Homewood ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Mountain Brook 27-25.

The match pitted two dominant signal callers against one another in Kaleb Carson and Cayden Hofbauer. Carson had a great game and rushed for 105 yards and one TD. Meanwhile, Hofbauer was balling out in the loss, throwing for 231 yards and one touchdown while completing 79.3% of his passes, and also rushing for 57 yards.

Gardendale's defeat dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Homewood, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Things could have been worse for Gardendale, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 23-7 loss to Homewood in their previous matchup back in October of 2024.
