Basketball Recap: Seven Rivers Christian Comes Up Short

Seven Rivers Christian suffered their biggest defeat since November 19, 2024 on Wednesday. They were dealt a 75-38 loss at the hands of the Wildwood Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Warriors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 669th, while the Wildcats are ranked 270th).

Despite the defeat, Seven Rivers Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Caleb Kuntz posted nine points and five rebounds. That's the most boards Kuntz has posted since back in February of 2024.

Wildwood got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Demarius Knight out in front who went 5 of 7 on his way to 12 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Harrison, who went 5 for 9 en route to 14 points along with eight assists and three steals.

Seven Rivers Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Wildwood, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Seven Rivers Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 54-12 victory against Angeline Academy of Innovation on the 25th. Wildwood has also already played their next game, a 75-28 win against Keystone Heights on the 23rd.
