Baseball Recap: Pinnacle Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against O'Connor, Pinnacle was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They won by a run and slipped past the Liberty Lions 5-4. This was a revenge game for the Pioneers: when they faced off against the Lions back in March, they had to take a 10-8 defeat.

Pinnacle got a great performance from Alex Korbesmeyer as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.1 innings pitched. Korbesmeyer has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Sam Green was incredible, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Pinnacle: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 7-10-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Raul Escobar, who went 1-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

The victory got Pinnacle back to even at 11-11-1. As for Liberty, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-9.

Pinnacle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-2 win against Boulder Creek on the 22nd. As for Liberty, they have also already played their next contest, a 6-0 defeat against Canyon View on the 23rd.
