Volleyball Recap: Smithfield Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Smithfield had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 4-13 to make it four. They fell just short of the Jamestown Eagles by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

As for Jamestown, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since August 26th.

Peyton Tilley had an outrageously good game as she had 11 digs and two aces. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in assists (23). Another player making a difference was Bahar Stump, who had 19 assists and five digs.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Smithfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Poquoson at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Jamestown will take on rival York at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
