Volleyball Recap: Porter Ridge Takes a Loss

After flying high against Piedmont last Wednesday, Porter Ridge came back down to earth. The Pirates fell 3-1 to the Metrolina Christian Academy Warriors on Tuesday. The Pirates have struggled against the Warriors recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.

Porter Ridge couldn't get the win, but they sure gave Metrolina Christian Academy a tough time in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 28-30, 25-18, 25-18.

Asaph Munezero paced Porter Ridge's offense, picking up 11 kills. Munezero got some help from Mung Khai and his 14 assists. Brandon Tuliano controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Porter Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Metrolina Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Porter Ridge is set to square off against their familiar foe Covenant Day at 6:00 p.m. on the 29th. Meanwhile, Metrolina Christian Academy will face off against rival Sun Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
