Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Woodruff). Their defense stepped up to hand the Legacy Early College Lions a 9-0 shutout on Wednesday. Woodruff might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by four goals or more this season.

The victory (which was Woodruff's sixth in a row) raised their record to 11-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those six games. As for Legacy Early College, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Woodruff and Legacy Early College will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next matchups. The next time the Wolverines see the pitch they'll take on Broome at 7:15 p.m. on the 15th. As for Legacy Early College, their break will end when they face Carolina Academy at 7:15 p.m. on the 28th.
