Recap: Belton Pirates vs. Chrisman Bears
The Belton Pirates pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chrisman. Belton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Chrisman apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Despite the loss, Belton still got an impressive performance from Kordell Williams, who scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Williams has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Calvin Lacey, who scored 14 points.
Belton's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Chrisman, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belton on the road again on January 23rd and play against Blue Valley Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Blue Valley Northwest has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 452 points over their last six contests. Chrisman will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Park Hill South at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd.
