Softball Recap: Valley Forge Patriots vs. Buckeye Bucks

Valley Forge had lost nine straight at home dating back to last season, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 0-11 to make it ten. They came up short against the Buckeye Bucks, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bucks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-2 on April 3rd.

As for Buckeye, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by nine runs or more this season.

For Buckeye's part, Kwynn Czerwony was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. Czerwony has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Faith Shaw was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Casandra Minarchick was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
