Soccer Game Preview: Angleton vs. Texas City

The Angleton Wildcats will square off against the Texas City Stingarees at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Angleton is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to four goals last Friday, they were much more limited against Friendswood on Friday. They fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The match was a 1-1 toss-up at halftime, but the Wildcats couldn't quite close it out.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Texas City). Their defense stepped up to hand Santa Fe a 4-0 shutout on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Stingarees needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

With the defeat, Angleton broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-3-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three games. As for Texas City, their victory bumped their record up to 3-9-7.
