Softball Recap: Tillamook Comes Up Short

Tillamook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Scappoose Indians, falling 19-4. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cheesemakers of the 13-9 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Jaedyn Haertel was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season. Hannah Obrist was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and one stolen base.

Tillamook's loss dropped their record down to 3-10. As for Scappoose, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tillamook will take on Nestucca at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Cheesemakers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Scappoose, they will square off against Astoria at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
