Softball Preview: New Albany Eagles vs. Reynoldsburg Raiders
The New Albany Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Reynoldsburg Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. New Albany is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
On Tuesday, New Albany was able to grind out a solid victory over Upper Arlington, taking the game 9-4.
Madi Muzi was incredible, going 4-for-5 with four RBI, a run, and a double. Bella Dues was another key contributor, scoring two runs while going 2-for-5.
Meanwhile, Reynoldsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of Hilliard Darby by a score of 5-4.
New Albany's win bumped their record up to 10-12. As for Reynoldsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-17.
Everything went New Albany's way against Reynoldsburg in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 as New Albany made off with a 17-7 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for New Albany since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
