Football Game Preview: Out-of-Door Academy Thunder vs. Faith Christian Lions

The Out-of-Door Academy Thunder will head out on the road to challenge the Faith Christian Lions at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Out-of-Door Academy has four straight wins, Faith Christian has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Thursday, Out-of-Door Academy really took it to IMG Academy State for the full four quarters, racking up a 43-7 victory. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.

It was another big night for Allen Clark, who rushed for 174 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Edouard Chaput, who threw for 154 yards and a pair of TDs.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Out-of-Door Academy was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 373 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in August of 2024.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Out-of-Door Academy's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Aengus Doody and Devin Erdei, who each picked up 0.5 sacks apiece.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Faith Christian's offense. They were beaten by Joshua Christian Academy 40-0 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 36 points in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Faith Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Out-of-Door Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Out-of-Door Academy against Faith Christian when the teams last played back in August of 2024, as the team secured a 28-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Thunder since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
