It was a good run, but Fort Bend Hightower unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They lost 18-2 to the Ridge Point Panthers. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Hurricanes, who until this match were averaging 3.88 runs allowed.

Fort Bend Hightower saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kourtney Jones-Caldwell, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Fort Bend Hightower's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 12-2-2. As for Ridge Point, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season.

As for Ridge Point, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Ridge Point Panthers face off against Lake Creek Lions at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. Lake Creek will roll in looking for their 18th straight victory, something Ridge Point surely won't give up without a fight.
