Basketball Game Preview: Skyline Vikings vs. Columbia Eagles

The Skyline Vikings will venture away from home to challenge the Columbia Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Columbia took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Skyline, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, Skyline strolled past Woodville with points to spare, taking the game 66-48. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while the Panthers are ranked 357th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Columbia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They took a 63-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of Hazel Green.

Skyline is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Columbia, their loss dropped their record down to 4-22.

Skyline couldn't quite finish off Columbia when the teams last played back in November of 2024 and fell 56-53. Can Skyline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
