Softball Recap: Mason Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Mason couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Centerville Elks by a score of 6-5 on Wednesday. The Comets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Elks earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

Mason's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Centerville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-13 record this season.

Mason does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Centerville, they will challenge Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Elks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Firebirds have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
