Volleyball Game Preview: Lake Cormorant vs. Saltillo Tigers

Lake Cormorant is a perfect 10-0 against Saltillo since September of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. Lake Cormorant will face off against Saltillo. Lake Cormorant is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last ten games.

Lake Cormorant is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Greenville with a sharp 3-0 win.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Lake Cormorant was: they took every set by at least 21 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-2, 25-3, 25-4.

Emily Huerta was nothing short of spectacular: she had ten aces and five digs. Those ten aces gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayla Gonzalez, who had six assists and four aces.

They weren't the only good servers: Lake Cormorant was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 33 aces. That's the most aces they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Saltillo got the win against Warren Central on Tuesday by a conclusive 3-0.

The victory got Saltillo back to even at 11-11. As for Lake Cormorant, their win bumped their record up to 31-8.

Everything went Lake Cormorant's way against Saltillo in their previous meeting back in September, as Lake Cormorant made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lake Cormorant since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
