Basketball Recap: Kensington Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Rob Smith and Nyree Ellis

Kensington lost against Thomas A. Edison back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Kensington KENSINGTON TIGER fell just short of the Thomas A. Edison Owls by a score of 53-51.

Kensington's loss came despite strong showings from Nyree Ellis and Rob Smith. Ellis posted 21 points, while Smith put up 16 points. Ellis' afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Quinzel Merritt was the offensive standout of the contest as he went 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Vazquez, who earned nine points and six rebounds.

Kensington's defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Thomas A. Edison, their win bumped their record up to 9-10.

Kensington has already played their next matchup, a 65-56 loss against Academy at Palumbo on the 27th. As for Thomas A. Edison, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 46-45 victory against Olney on the 28th.
