Basketball Recap: Freedom Takes a Loss

After flying high against Alexander Central last Friday, Freedom came back down to earth. The Freedom Patriots came up short against the Hickory Red Tornadoes on Thursday, falling 70-46. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Red Tornadoes recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Freedom's loss dropped their record down to 14-4. As for Hickory, they pushed their record up to 10-4 with the victory, which was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season.

Freedom and Hickory should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Freedom (ranked 110th) will meet Hibriten (ranked 570th) at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Hickory will face off against St. Stephens at 7:45 p.m. on Friday up 261 places (109 vs. 370).
