Football Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington and Steel Valley pushed the score to 49-28 the last time they played Steel Valley, but on Friday defenses reigned supreme. The contest between the Prexies and the Ironmen didn't end well, with the Prexies falling 21-6. The Prexies haven't had much luck with the Ironmen recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Steel Valley can attribute much of their success to Da`Ron Barksdale, who rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns.

Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Steel Valley, the win also got them back to even at 1-1.

Washington will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Waynesburg Central at 7:00 p.m. on September 12. As for Steel Valley, they will welcome Bishop Canevin at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
