Basketball Game Preview: Harper Creek Beavers vs. Portage Central Mustangs

Harper Creek hasn't had much luck against Portage Central recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Harper Creek Beavers will head out to take on the Portage Central Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Friday, Harper Creek didn't have too much trouble with Hastings as they won 63-46. The match marked the Beavers' most dominant victory of the season so far.

Meanwhile, Portage Central had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They walked away with a 56-43 win over the Cardinals.

Portage Central pushed their record up to 3-1 with the victory, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Harper Creek, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Harper Creek lost to Portage Central on the road by a decisive 60-41 margin when the teams last played back in December of 2023. Can Harper Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
