Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Cougars vs. North Bergen Bruins

The Columbia Cougars will head out on the road to take on the North Bergen Bruins at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Saturday, Columbia was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 43-39 to Storm King. While losing is never fun, Columbia can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 142nd in New Jersey, while Storm King is ranked 27th in New York).

Meanwhile, North Bergen was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to River Dell on the road by a 63-46 margin.

North Bergen's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Columbia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.
