Volleyball Recap: Cocoa Beach Starts off Right with Win over Calvary Chapel Academy + How To Watch

Cocoa Beach gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Calvary Chapel Academy Eagles. The Minutemen have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Cocoa Beach had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 26-24, 25-21, 26-24.

Kate Monseliu paced Cocoa Beach's offense, picking up 12 kills. Monseliu got some help from Tayber Diffenthal and her 15 assists. Monseliu also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Kylee Fitzpatrick, racking up four apiece.

Calvary Chapel Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Cocoa Beach has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against West Shore on the 26th. As for Calvary Chapel Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-1 victory against Morningside Academy on the 25th.
