Baseball Game Preview: Gilbert Classical Academy Spartans vs. San Carlos Braves

Gilbert Classical Academy has gone a perfect 4-0 against San Carlos recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Braves at 4:00 p.m. Neither of those teams managed to put together many runs in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Gilbert Classical Academy fell victim to Lincoln Prep and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Lightning.

Meanwhile, San Carlos was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against Baboquivari, falling 13-1.

San Carlos' loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Gilbert Classical Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5-1 record this season.

Gilbert Classical Academy took their win against San Carlos in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 29-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
