Softball Recap: Fulton Gets the Win

Fulton took a ten-run loss the last time they faced off against Perry, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 win over the Ramblers on Saturday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Pirates as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Dayten Lambert was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and two RBI. Those two triples gave her a new career-high. Norah Hnetynka was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Fulton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .594. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Fulton's win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Perry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4.

Coming up, Fulton will be playing at home against Montabella at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Perry, they will welcome Michigan Lutheran Seminary at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
