Hagerman gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They blew past Watersprings 50-21. The Pirates not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since November 22, 2024 (when they won 47-15).
Hagerman found their leader in sophomore Kaitynn Kendall, who went 8-for-16 to rack up 20 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Addi Chizum, who posted six points in addition to seven steals and five boards.
Hagerman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive contests dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hagerman will face off against Oakley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give the Pirates their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Watersprings, they will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Alturas Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
