Basketball Recap: Spanish Springs Snags Eighth Win in Last Ten Games

Spanish Springs had won two straight home games and Reese Wakefield did her part to make it three on Wednesday. The Spanish Springs Cougars blew past the Damonte Ranch Mustangs 54-29 thanks in part to Wakefield, who posted 12 points and three steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played.

Another player making a difference was Mackenzie Chase, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 12 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Damonte Ranch had strong showings from Maya Hartley, who earned nine points, and Hailey Fisher, who put up two points.

Spanish Springs has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28.2 points. As for Damonte Ranch, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Spanish Springs didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 59-41 defeat against Reno on the 17th. Damonte Ranch has also already played their next contest, a 58-44 loss against Bishop Manogue on the 20th.
