Tokay made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Chavez, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Titans on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Tigers sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Dante Rodriguez and Ryan Oliveri made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Rodriguez pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Oliveri pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. At the plate, Rodriguez scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Oliveri scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1. Tokay is 2-1 when Rodriguez posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, Noah Van Dyke and Brock Sell did most of the damage at the plate: Van Dyke went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Sell went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple. That's the most doubles Sell has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gavin Severson, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Tokay kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 12.4.

Tokay's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-9. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Chavez, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Tokay will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Titans: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
