Softball Recap: Martin County Wins Going Away Against Jensen Beach

While Martin County put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Jensen Beach. Martin County was the clear victor by a 6-0 margin over Jensen Beach. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by six runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Brealyn White's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 11 Ks. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kalei Bertke, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Maya Scotti was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.

The win made it two in a row for Martin County and bumps their season record up to 7-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Jensen Beach, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Martin County will head out to challenge Treasure Coast at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jensen Beach, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Placid at 6:00 p.m. on April 8.
