May River entered their tilt with Colleton County on Friday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 35-12 victory. The result was nothing new for the Sharks, who have now won three games by 23 points or more so far this season.

May River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tony Cooper led the charge by rushing for 72 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only six carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Justin Head, who gained 111 total yards and a touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: May River was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 260 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 190 rushing yards in eight consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

May River's record now sits at 5-1. As for Colleton County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Coming up, May River will be playing at home against Bishop England at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Colleton County, they will venture away from home to challenge Beaufort at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Eagles' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.17 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
