Basketball Recap: Ragsdale Comes Up Short

Ragsdale was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the Southwest Guilford Cowboys and fell 78-50. If the Tigers were looking for revenge after losing 93-53 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why Ragsdale lost, don't look at Dashawn Ervin. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 13 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Ervin a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Beatty, who posted seven points and six rebounds.

Ragsdale's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Southwest Guilford, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-4.

Ragsdale will take on Northwest Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Southwest Guilford, they will square off against Grimsley at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Southwest Guilford's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 matchups.
