Softball Game Preview: Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish vs. Lamphere Rams

The Notre Dame Prep Fighting Irish will face off against the Lamphere Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Notre Dame Prep's favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while Lamphere has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

Notre Dame Prep's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Troy as they made off with a 14-0 win. Considering the Fighting Irish have won eight games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Lamphere scored first but ultimately less than Port Huron in their contest on Tuesday. They took a 15-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Hawks.

Paige Oltersdorf and Aliana Martinez (2026) stepped up to the plate in a big way. Oltersdorf went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Martinez (2026) went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and three runs. That stolen base was Oltersdorf's first of the season. Emilie Eritano (2025) was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Notre Dame Prep has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.3 runs over those games. As for Lamphere, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-7.
