Football Game Preview: Palmyra-Eagle Panthers vs. Lourdes Knights

The Palmyra-Eagle Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Lourdes Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Palmyra-Eagle has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with three straight losses, while Lourdes will come in with seven straight victories.

Palmyra-Eagle's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Westfield Area on Friday. They were beaten by the Pioneers 42-0.

Meanwhile, Lourdes blew past Dodgeland, posting a 45-8 win. That 37 point margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Lourdes, adding 15 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Lucas Neuens, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Lourdes didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ryder Mullen and JT Schultz. Lourdes received some extra help from Jacob Bogardus, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Palmyra-Eagle's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Lourdes, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Palmyra-Eagle lost to Lourdes on the road by a decisive 34-15 margin in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
