Mount Carmel is 8-2 against Shamokin Area since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The RED TORNADOES will welcome the Indians  at 4:30  p.m. Mount Carmel is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6  runs per game  this season.
Mount Carmel is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 12  runs  on Saturday, they were much more limited against Southern Columbia Area  on Monday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of  2-1. The RED TORNADOES' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
  Lukas Carpenter was cooking despite his team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with one  stolen base and one  double. He has been hot recently, having  posted  at least one  stolen base the last four times he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jon Morgante, who  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles.
 Shamokin Area not only won  on Monday, but they posted their biggest win  since May 1, 2024 (when they won  11-1). They were the clear victors by  an  8-1 margin over Sugar Valley Rural. The  victory was some much needed relief for the Indians as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.
 Mount Carmel's defeat dropped their record down to 13-4. As for Shamokin Area, their win bumped their record up to 6-11.
 Everything went Mount Carmel's way against Shamokin Area in their previous meeting  back in April of 2024, as Mount Carmel made off with  an  8-0 victory. Do  the RED TORNADOES have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them?  We'll have the answer soon enough.
