Basketball Recap: West Mesquite's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

North Mesquite typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday West Mesquite proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the North Mesquite Stallions by a score of 57-47. This was a revenge game for the Wranglers: when they faced off against the Stallions back in January, they had to take a 50-29 defeat.

Despite the loss, North Mesquite still got an impressive performance from Syniyah Grigsby, who went 11 of 20 on her way to 27 points. Grigsby is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Gabriella Grigsby was another key player, putting up six points and ten rebounds.

West Mesquite's victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 14-14. As for North Mesquite, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-15.

The future could be bright for both West Mesquite and North Mesquite: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. West Mesquite will try to hand Samuell their 13th-straight defeat when the two meet at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, North Mesquite will look to extend Spruce's five-game losing streak when the meet at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
