Baseball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Takes a Loss

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the Muscatine Muskies, falling 15-5. On the bright side, the five- run effort marked the Panthers' highest-scoring contest to date.

Mt. Pleasant's loss dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Muscatine, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-4 record this season.

Mt. Pleasant will be playing in front of their home fans against Albia at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Muscatine, they will head out to take on Pleasant Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Spartans' pitching crew has only allowed 1.8 runs per game this season, so the Muskies' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
