Baseball Game Preview: Naperville North Huskies vs. Waubonsie Valley Warriors

For the second straight game, Naperville North will face off against Waubonsie Valley. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Naperville North's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Waubonsie Valley's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

The scorekeeper got an easy start on Monday as neither Naperville North nor Waubonsie Valley made it on the board until the seventh inning. The Huskies might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 2-1 to the Warriors, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Warriors recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Yash Desai was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He also tossed two walks, which is notable because Naperville North is 2-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 8-11 otherwise.

The win was the fourth in a row for Waubonsie Valley, bringing their record up to 13-9. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Naperville North, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-12.
