Volleyball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

Hillcrest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Arlington Lions. The Trojans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Hillcrest started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 16-25, 20-25, 27-25, 25-20, 15-12.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 11-13. As for Arlington, their victory ended a three-match drought on the road and puts them at 6-11.

Hillcrest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 loss against Poly on the 26th. As for Arlington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Paloma Valley on the 26th.
